Who is this for?

Built for the student your syllabus forgot

Indian psychology programmes are rich in theory and thin on client contact. This internship exists to fill exactly that gap.

🎓

BA / BSc Psychology students

You know your Freud, Jung and Big Five. You have never actually administered a test, scored it, or explained the result to a nervous 17-year-old. Start here.

📚

MA / MSc Psychology students

Your department wants documented internship hours, and you want case material you can talk about confidently in an interview. The 240-hour track is built for that requirement.

🧭

Diploma & certificate holders in counselling

You have the counselling grounding but no structured psychometric exposure. Learn administration, scoring and interpretation the way it is done in practice.

Also open to early-career mental health professionals who want practical psychometric exposure before offering assessment in their own practice.
Applicants must be 18 or older when the cohort begins — interns are exposed to sensitive client information and sign a binding confidentiality undertaking.

Selection, not enrolment

Not everyone who applies gets in

Instant acceptance is the clearest sign of a certificate mill. Every applicant here has a short screening call before their cohort is confirmed, and we do turn people down.

1

Reserve your seat

Pick your track and pay to hold one of the 12 seats in the next cohort.

2

15-minute screening call

We talk through your background, your goals, and whether the hours are realistic for you right now.

3

Selection decision

If you're a fit, your cohort is confirmed. If not, we say so honestly and refund you in full.

4

Cohort begins

You join a group of no more than 12, with one supervisor across the whole programme.

Not selected? You get every rupee back.

Your fee reserves a seat — it does not buy admission. If we decide after your screening call that this isn't the right programme for you, we refund you in full, with no forms and no argument. That is what makes the selection real rather than decorative.

Priced in supervised hours, because that's what counts

Most Indian universities convert 45–60 internship hours into one academic credit, and several MA Psychology programmes require 240 hours. Every track runs at roughly 15 hours a week — longer tracks are more weeks, not a lighter load.

How you're graded

A certificate you can fail is worth having

Attendance alone does not earn the certificate. You pass a live practical, marked against this rubric — published here so you know exactly what you're being held to before you pay.

The practical exam

Administer and score a real protocol, unassisted25 marks
Conduct a structured intake and document the MSE20 marks
Run a 20-minute debrief with the supervisor playing the parent30 marks
Submit a client-ready report against the writing rubric25 marks
Pass mark: 60. Below 60 you may resit once, free, with the next cohort. Your grade is printed on your certificate — a distinction should mean something to whoever reads it.

What the debrief is marked on

Structure — opening, findings, meaning, plan, closeWeighted
Accuracy — does the interpretation match the data?Weighted
Restraint — do you claim more than the test supports?Weighted
Containment — handling pressure, tears, and hostilityWeighted
Referral judgement — knowing when to stop and referWeighted
Every certificate carries a unique ID, your assessed hours, cohort dates and grade. Any employer or university can write to hello@lumelive.co.in with that ID and we will confirm what you were actually assessed on.
Recommended Add-On

Before you assess anyone else, be the client

The interns who debrief best are the ones who have sat on the other side of the table. Add the Lume Lens psychometric report — the same instrument we run for paying clients — to your internship at an intern-only price.

  • Experience the full assessment journey exactly as a client does
  • Get your own detailed profile report to study and dissect
  • Use your own result as the first case you ever debrief

Why Choose Lume Live

We're a practice, not a training company

That difference is why we can offer things a course provider structurally cannot: real clients, a live instrument, and paid work at the end.

🗣️

Not just theory

We don't just teach you Freud. We teach you how to handle a panicking parent who wants a guarantee that their child will clear NEET — in the room, in real time, graded, with the words you will actually use.

👤

Founder-led supervision

Direct mentorship from a practising psychologist with 6+ years of experience, with cohorts capped at 12. No junior trainers, no recorded playlists, no teaching assistant answering your doubts.

💼

We're hiring, not just teaching

Top performers are offered paid freelance counselling work at ₹300–400 a session. Other programmes send you job listings. We route you actual clients, because we have them.

What we will not promise you

Paid psychology internships in India have earned a bad reputation, and much of it is deserved. Here is exactly what this programme does not do — so you can decide honestly whether it's worth your money.

  • We will not guarantee you a Letter of Recommendation. It goes to top performers on merit. A recommendation everyone receives is worth nothing to the person reading it.
  • We will not give you real clients to counsel. You are a trainee. You shadow with consent and practise on peers under supervision — anyone offering you unsupervised clients is putting both of you at risk. Our Ethics & Consent Framework sets out exactly where the line sits.
  • We will not make you a licensed psychologist. This complements your degree. It does not replace a formal qualification, RCI registration, or statutory supervised hours.
  • We will not guarantee you a job. The pre-placement interview is real and so is the paid pool, but it is offered on merit after assessment, never at enrolment.
  • We will not accept you just because you paid. If the screening call says this isn't right for you, we refund you rather than take the money.

If what you need is a certificate for your CV without doing the work, buy a cheaper one — they are easy to find. Ours takes 60 hours, is graded, and you can fail it. That is the entire point.

Why it costs more than ₹2,500

You're paying for the supervision ratio

Cheaper programmes run large webinar cohorts with automated certificates. Here is where your fee actually goes.

1

12 interns, one supervisor

Not a 200-person webinar. Everyone gets airtime.

2

Individually graded

Every practical is marked by a person against a rubric.

3

A live instrument

You train on Lume Lens, used with paying clients today.

4

A real pathway

Top performers are interviewed for paid counselling work.

Learn from someone still doing the work

“Every week I sit with a student who has no idea what to do next, and a parent who is certain they do. That conversation is a skill. It can be taught — but only by practising it, not by reading about it.”

Lume Live is led by a qualified psychologist with 6+ years of experience in career counselling, psychometric assessment and student mental health. Every internship session is taught and supervised personally — the same person who runs the client sessions runs your training, and grades your practical.

FAQ

Questions students actually ask

You choose 60, 120 or 240 supervised hours. Most Indian universities convert 45–60 internship hours into one academic credit, and several MA Psychology programmes require a 240-hour internship — our University Credit Track exists for exactly that. Your certificate states your hours, cohort dates and grade, and the 240-hour track includes a signed supervision log. Universities set their own rules, so confirm the format your department wants before enrolling and we'll document it accordingly.
No. Every applicant has a short screening call before their cohort is confirmed, and we do turn people down — usually because the fit is wrong or the time commitment isn't realistic for them right now. Cohorts are capped at 12 so supervision stays real. If we don't select you, your fee is refunded in full.
About 15 hours a week on every track: live supervised sessions plus scored practice, case work and report drafting. This is intensive and not something you can complete passively in the background — the longer tracks are more weeks at the same load, not a lighter one. Live sessions run in the evenings and at weekends so they don't clash with college.
Yes, and that's the point. The certificate requires passing a live practical: you score a real protocol, run a graded debrief role-play, and submit a report marked against the published rubric. Pass mark is 60. A certificate nobody can fail is worth nothing. If you fall short you may resit once, free, with the next cohort.
The supervision ratio. Cohorts are capped at 12 interns with one supervisor, every practical is individually graded by a person, and you train on the same psychometric instrument we use with paying clients. Cheaper programmes run large webinar cohorts with automated certificates. If a certificate alone is what you need, buy the cheaper one — we'd rather say that than take your money.
No. Interns don't counsel real clients independently. From the fellowship onwards you shadow live Lume Live sessions only where the client has given explicit prior consent for that specific session — and where the client is under 18, only with guardian consent that names the trainee. Your own practice counselling is peer-to-peer under supervision. We publish the whole standard, including what a client is told before you observe and what you may never do, in our Ethics & Consent Framework.
For top performers in the 120-hour and 240-hour tracks, yes. We run a real counselling practice and route sessions to trained freelance counsellors at ₹300–400 per session. It's offered on merit after a pre-placement interview and is never guaranteed at enrolment — the standard is what makes it worth having.
No, and be careful of anyone who claims otherwise. This is applied practical training that complements your degree. It does not replace a formal qualification, RCI registration, or the supervised clinical hours required by any statutory body.
Yes. Finish Practitioner Foundations, and if you want to continue we'll adjust what you've already paid against the fellowship or the university track in a later cohort. Message us and we'll set it up.
Every certificate carries a unique ID along with your assessed hours, cohort dates and grade. Any employer or university can write to hello@lumelive.co.in with that ID and we'll confirm authenticity and exactly what you were assessed on.
If we don't select you after your screening call, you're refunded in full. If you withdraw before your cohort's first live session, you're refunded in full. Once the cohort has begun, fees are non-refundable because your seat and supervision hours are reserved for you. Full terms are on our refund policy page.
12 seats per cohort

Your degree gave you the theory. Come get the practice.

Reserve a seat, take the screening call, and if we're not the right fit for you we'll say so and refund you. If we are, you'll spend the next few weeks doing the work rather than reading about it.

Talk to us first

Applicants must be 18 or older when the cohort begins. The Lume Live internship is applied practical training and is not a substitute for a formal degree, RCI registration, or statutory supervised clinical hours. Certificates are issued on completion of the assessed hours and a passed practical, and state the holder's hours, cohort dates and grade. Letters of Recommendation and pre-placement interview opportunities are offered on merit and are not guaranteed. Academic credit is granted solely at the discretion of your university — confirm your department's requirements before enrolling. Client shadowing takes place only with the prior, explicit consent of the client — and, for clients under 18, the verifiable consent of a parent or guardian naming the trainee — as set out in our Internship Ethics & Consent Framework. All case material shared during the programme is confidential, permanently.
